Shakti normally travels up to Shiva
Along the thirty-three steps in the spine.
Sometimes she stops to rest somewhere
On some chakra and that is fine.
Sometimes Shakti is in a hurry
And she rushes up, unwilling to wait
For she must unite with her Shiva
As he’s her perennially ready date.
They meet and embrace and make love
And give birth to Ganesha their child
And Ganesha with his elephant’s head
Can sometimes be gentle and sometimes wild.
When his mother Shakti is inside somewhere
He stands guard zealously at the door
So none may disturb her in her rest
And Ganesha loves his most divine chore.
Shiva came down today from his perch
At the peak where he normally stays
And seeing his father Ganesha stepped aside –
Shiva-Shakti met and the steps trembled in amazing ways.
Shiva whispered his love to Shakti
But something else too heard whatever they spoke about –
And since it’s been shared with me somehow
I’ll tell it to you – if you can overcome your doubt.
Bliss in the crown doesn’t need much
And from it secret knowledge can be gained
And then the third eye teaches things
That may be expressed, not feigned.
When the vishuddhi expresses itself through arts
Hearts are easily filled with love
And then smitten hearts spread it more
For it’s come as a gift from above.
When love is felt the fire of desire ignites
And the Solar plexus heats up things –
That causes clouds to form above
And rivers replenish all the springs.
When the sacral overflows with sacred waters
It nourishes the earth and makes it fertile
And that’s when the bounteous crops peep out
And wants are dispelled for quite a while.
Ganesha stands firm at mother Shakti’s door
And Shiva alone can go past him.
While most may try to somehow propitiate Ganesha
Shiva alone can enter on a whim.
