Over 80% Reduction in Mucus/Phlegm
(Fighting Kapha Dosha – Breathing Better)

My fight with kapha dosha or the body’s tendency to produce kapha aka phlegm and mucus has been a long one. There was also a time when I struggled against COPD.

The fight has gone through numerous ups and downs and is today in a position where I feel it’s reduced by over 80%.

I’m going to describe the different things I’ve been doing because each of those may have contributed in its own special ways to the huge reduction that I’m finally beginning to see.

Initially, a lot of common pranayama techniques including Kapal Bhati, Bhastrika, Bhramari, Anulom Vilom helped me contain the problem and to continue with my normal lifestyle without too much disturbance.

Swaskosh Shudhhi Kriya, a powerful technique helped me expel much of the phlegm in the body, esp from the lungs and Nadis which naturally helped me breathe easier better.

This continued for numerous years without a reduction in the production of kapha. So, while a lot of it was being expelled, esp when my immunity was down and when I was struck by COVID a few times, the body wasn’t free of it as the production continued.

Tridosha Balancing, for a period seemed to be able to reduce the production of phlegm but its results were not convincing and lasting to make a strong impact.

The fight against kapha continued as I kept looking for breathing techniques and methods that would make a sizable and obvious impact on the production of kapha. While some of it may be necessary for the body’s processes it becomes a problem when the body seems to produce an excess of it that interferes with the breathing quality.

As a breath-watcher and breath-worker I’ve become super sensitive to the quality of breath and pick up small variations and changes, experiment and look for techniques that help. While numerous small improvements have been felt over the years, it wasn’t until very recently that I was forced to take notice of a drastic improvement.

Since numerous things may have contributed, I’m going to describe them in some detail so serious practitioners can take advantage more fully.

COPD, asthma and other breath-related conditions can be extremely debilitating and can leave one feeling too tired and unable to cope with life’s demands.

However, it was the combination of SWA-TANTRA Kriya techniques which include Lotus-opening, Hanuman Master Breath, triple channel harmonium breath and some of the Swaskosh Shudhhi Kriya techniques that combined very powerfully with the recently discovered and shared HANUMAN STAMINA BREATH to give powerful results in reducing kapha production. This has been very liberating.

As explained in the videos and articles:

– Apply a small amount of pure cow’s ghee (clarified butter) to both nostrils and massage it in for a few seconds

– Pull the breath in after a few gentle squeezes of the nostrils to help spread the ghee into the nasal passage…

– Practice Bhramari and let the increased NO (nitric oxide) work it’s way through the Nadis. The more relaxed the belly and system is, the wider and more complete is the effect of the NO in helping vasodilation (expansion of Nadis and arteries) which helps in the easier movement of body’s numerous systems…

– Practice Anulom-Vilom (Nadi shodhan pranayama) along with a humming when exhaling…do it slowly. Practice kumbhak or gentle breath-holds after both inhalation and exhalation…

– Repeat this for at least 15-20 cycles. You can do more if you like…A half-gour practice, ideally twice a day will bring quick and powerful results. If you can combine these with the SWA-TANTRA Kriya techniques outlined above, the results will feel miraculous.

You will begin to notice a good reduction in kapha/mucus/phlegm within days…

If you’ve been regular with Swaskosh Shudhhi Kriya, whereby you’ve successfully cleansed your lungs and Nadis quite well, the results of the above kriyas will be felt even more clearly.

One thing is clear, the better you breathe, the better will be your life and its experiences in almost every way…

As your body overcomes the kapha-related issues, you’ll notice great improvement in your stamina as well.

Many of the above techniques have been explained in numerous articles and videos on YouTube.and also Facebook groups. The more detailed and intricate practices like Lotus Opening, Harmonium Breath etc are included in the SWA-TANTRA Kriya program as they take time to learn and must be internalized slowly vua step-by-step practices.

Even so, there are enough techniques shared widely via my YouTube videos and articles and also on FB to give you an easy path to practice and improve your breath quality and increase your stamina multifold.

For me, naturally, overcoming Kapha to an extent of over 80% itself is a big achievement.

In addition to the breathwork techniques explained above, i am taking about 10-20 ml of giloy juice and aloe vera juice (patanjali) once daily.

I also chant Ram Ram regularly. In addition to it being a great way to please Hanumanji, Ram is also the seed mantra of the manipura chakra which is the fire chakra in the body. This, too, must play an important role in the reduction of kapha (earth and water).

I trust this information and details will help many who struggle with excess kapha on their bodies…

Wishing all a great life through better breathing…
