Of my numerous breath-related roles – as breath-watcher, breath coach, breath-explorer, breath writer, breath poet, breath expert etc. I think the single most important one along with breath-watcher is breath-explorer.

It’s the breath exploration that has given me a lot and brought me great clarity about different techniques and how they can be used.

My friends and relatives also accuse me of overdoing things and thus facing health challenges. Over the last years or so, I’ve come close to great breakthroughs with the Tridoshas as explained in Ayurveda, with special focus on Kapha dosha which is my imbalance. In trying to control excessive production of mucus/phlegm, I have been experimenting for some years and sometimes I feel I’m closer to a better understanding. However, sometimes I have to challenge myself more deeply and that can create setbacks in the health front. But that’s part of my work and must not dissuade me in any way.

A scientist is essentially an observer. And, I think of my body as a laboratory where I observe my breath.

Breath is my tool for my experiments to study the flow of energy in the body. When breath flows and carries energy to different parts of the body, i observe the effects, the benefits, the changes, the challenges and more…

That’s how my journey with the breath has been for many decades. And, i noticed how these flows impacted my body, my well-being, my mind, emotions and a lot more.

Along the way, I began to first notice the tentative effects of certain breaths and energy on my being.

Some things seemed to get better, to heal and some things stayed unaffected or sometimes were even adversely impacted, though usually mildly so.

Was it easy? No! But that’s part of the process.

However, all the breakthroughs and challenges helped bring clarity…

And, slowly, little by little great healings began to happen in my being from physical ailments, illnesses, emotional and mental issues and also spiritually.

At the cost of repetition, I must share a brief list of conditions that were cured/improved/healed. While not all were complete cures, there was enough of an improvement to help me live easier and better:

COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease) – despite a history of 40 years of smoking, including 20 sticks a day of cheap Chinese cigarettes for about 20 years.

Hypertension – High BP started to come under control with just belly breathing. With deeper techniques, it stayed under control for almost 20 years (without medication).

Indigestion and Constipation – Stress and tension can cause both these and simply learning to stay relaxed with the breath can help measurably. My decades of indigestion, constipation and experiments with different kinds of natural laxatives, for the most part, is history. They don’t affect me any more

Piles and Hemorrhoids – When indigestion and constipation happen, so can piles or hemorrhoids. Breathing techniques (esp Hanuman Master Breath) helped immensely. Now, there’s neither bleeding nor pain in the anal region.

Fibromyalgia and Sciatica – Nerve related conditions which breath and energy can help heal quickly.

ED (Erectile Dysfunction) and related conditions – cured easily with the breath.it took me years to get the clarity and master the techniques but now they’re easy to learn and practice. Women’s FSAD and related issues are also easily reversed.

Tumorous Swelling – After a botched up root canal and related issues, I developed a swelling in my lower jaw. It persisted for months before breath helped clear it ..within days.

Depression and lack of motivation – When adversity surrounds, as it did me, with a crashed family business and no credible source of income, losses in all areas, including social ostracisation etc, depression can easily take over. Hanumanji’s guidance and inspiration with breathing techniques kept them a long distance away. Now, it doesn’t matter that my capital – financially, socially and in other ways has eroded. I have Hanumanji instead…and he has me.

Many other small and big challenges were also similarly healed, without medication, along the way.

Spiritual healing is an integral part of all healing and breath helps by bringing deep healing in all areas.

Breath, with its ability to touch and impact the body, mind, energy and intellect can bring deep healing in all areas of life, even as it helps lift one spiritually…

Of all that one needs to achieve in life as a human being, there can be nothing greater than raising one’s consciousness and helping others raise theirs! Breath as the lion and Ma Durga as the energy riding the lion of breath can move through the whole body as it slays all kinds of demons including illnesses, negativity…

As breath explorer, I’ve experienced the immense power of Ma Durga to help me move towards my highest goal…

Gave I reached the goal? No, but i’m certainly headed in the right direction…fast!
