Everyone experiences a sense of low, a sense of despondency every once in a while.

The reasons can be innumerable…experiencing a financial crunch, being seemingly ill-treated or ignored by friends and family, being told off by a boss at work, receiving an unnecessary volley of abuse on the street, losing something etc etc etc.

There are innumerable things that can make us feel bad, low, down, beaten…

Here’s a simple trick to beat the blues. Unfortunately, i cannot guarantee it will work equally well for all. It won’t!

Some will find it very useful…and some not at all.

Next time someone, anyone, something, anything triggers a sense of doom, gloom or unpleasantness, simply stand back and ask yourself, ‘which part of me feels this pain – my ego/ lower self or the real self/ the real me?’

The real self is your ‘atma’ and you may call it by any name…but that’s what causes life to happen, heart to beat, blood to circulate, food to digest etc in you…that’s the real you!

Over time you will recognize and say – ‘i think it’s the ego.’

The ego is not the real you…it’s like the shadow that happens when the sun is shining just like life happens in the body while the inner sun of atma is shining within. When the sun is shining, a shadow is bound to happen.

The ego is simply the shadow.

Since the pain is felt by the ego, there’s no reason for you to feel low.

SMILE!

Remember, you are not hurt in any way…but your ego can be hurt in many ways…

Let the ego take the pain if it likes. YOU DON’T!

Smile into your ego’s pain.

Slowly, a time will come when none of the external drama is able to hurt you too much…

Internally, you are an ocean of peace!

You will beat the blues because you, the real you, is utterly unbeatable! You, the real you is incredibly powerful and capable!
