‘The Ankh, an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol, represents life, immortality, and the afterlife. It’s often depicted in the hands of deities and pharaohs, symbolizing their power to grant life and ensure passage to the next world. The Ankh’s unique shape, resembling a cross with a loop on top, is also associated with concepts like the union of heaven and earth, and the balance between masculine and feminine energies.’ That’s how google describes the Ankh.
I have seen pictures of this ancient symbol and read a little about its mystical importance.
Gods, pharaohs, deities, priests are often depicted as carrying this mystical symbol that resembles a cross with a loop on top.
While I didn’t think of it too much until recently when certain breathwork techniques suddenly brought the experience of the Ankh within my being.
I searched online and discovered a few explanations about how to activate the Ankh energy within.
Most speak about getting to a near-orgasmic state and then pushing the energy around.
That might be great for some and maybe, it actually works for them but I believe in conserving sexual energy through semen retention and using it for a better purpose. What’s a few minutes’ pleasure to a sense of near-continuous sense of joyfulness, calm and pleasantness-on-call!
As I continued experimenting and observing new channels of breath, I suddenly began to chance upon what I think of as a combination of vertical and horizontal breathing.
Vertical breathing channels breath down towards the Muladhara and horizontal breathing seems to channel the breath along hitherto unobserved channels just below the neck…
Together, they seemed to create an energy cross within and suddenly a loop-like energy sensation began to flow around the face and head.
At the beginning the sensation was mild and not too clear but I continued the technique as I was enjoying the feeling of breath and energy like a horizontal bar in the shoulders region.
Suddenly, i felt the Ankh-like figure within and it felt extremely pleasant like a powerful and extremely pleasant brain orgasm.
I searched online and discovered what others have discovered through different techniques.
In my view, this may not be experienced easily unless a deep cleansing is effected within, throughout the sushumna first and then more pointedly in the throat chakra.
Unless energy flows without too much of a hindrance, the Ankh Breathing Technique may not bring the desired results.
However, once one is aware that such a technique and experience is possible, they can start working on preparing the energy pathways…
Ankh Breathing just might empower you like the ancient Egyptian Gods, deities, pharaohs and priests…
And you won’t even need to merely hold the symbol when the symbol itself takes shape within your being!
Who knows how Shakti might then bless and empower you…
An interesting and pertinent side note involves Thith and Hermeticism. While these may not be very familiar to most, google says,
‘The ankh, Thoth, and Hermeticism are interconnected through themes of wisdom, knowledge, and spiritual transformation. The ankh, an Egyptian symbol of life, embodies the Hermetic principle of “as above, so below,” linking the material and spiritual realms. Thoth, the Egyptian god of wisdom, writing, and magic, is often associated with the ankh and is a key figure in Hermeticism, where he is linked with Hermes Trismegistus. Hermeticism, a philosophical and religious tradition, draws heavily from both Egyptian and Greek sources, finding resonance with Thoth’s wisdom and the ankh’s symbolism of spiritual alchemy and transformation.’
