Sushumna – The Path To Higher Consciousness
It’s that subtle but extremely powerful channel of breath and energy which is at the very core of our being.
The health of the sushumna in terms of how cleansed, cleared and ‘available’ it is, affects each chakra and every single aspect of human life. Keeping the sushumna active is critical to progress in life…
Your spiritual journey from the lowest consciousness (ego self) to the highest consciousness (atma, self, higher self) is essentially the journey of your energy from Muladhara to the Sahasrara.
The more active the sushumna becomes, the more it will impact and improve every area of human life.
Sushumna is the subtle channel of breath and energy that runs from the Muladhara (base chakra) to the Sahasrara (crown chakra).
Initially, for many, it is hard even to access it and feel its presence. Yet, nature, knowing how important a role it plays in human lives, ensures that it is active for a few minutes at least, every hour to ninety minutes.
As the flow of breath switches from Ida (left nostril nadi) to pingala (right nostril nadi) and vice-versa, for a while, estimated at about 4 minutes, it stays in sushumna.
At this stage, the only way to know whether the sushumna is active is to feel the flow of breath near the nostrils. When both are flowing equally, it signals the sushumna is active.
However, as the sushumna nadi becomes more and more active and breath passes easily through it, noticing how active it is becomes easy…
The more easily breath flows up the sushumna, the better it is. It signifies that there aren’t too many blockages there. If there are blockages the breath won’t flow up easily. Also, one will continue to feel stuck in life and will find it extremely difficult to change habits etc or to be able to adapt to situations as they present themselves.
‘Stuckness’ in life is a clear sign of blocked sushumna.
When the sushumna is active and the technique of lotus opening is employed effectively, the sushumna nadi will begin to expand or widen. That means, more breath and energy will pass through easily…
It will help clear and cleanse the feeder nadis too and ensure the pranamaya kosha becomes more active and responsive.
An active pranamaya kosha through which energy flows unhindered brings many health and spiritual benefits…
Activating the sushumna thus, directly affects the chakras, mind, health, well-being and most importantly spiritual growth…
After all, what good is human life that’s spent like an animal on merely trying to somehow survive and procreate?
Spiritual growth is the real goal…and in that the sushumna plays a central role.
While I teach techniques to activate the sushumna in almost all my programs and courses, the real benefit of lotus opening, vacuum breathing and a lot more becomes apparent in the SWA-TANTRA KRIYA course. What’s taken me decades to learn will be known by you within weeks…
Join the SWA-TANTRA KRIYA group to experience your sushumna, activate it, cleanse it, widen it and then use it like a powerful vacuum cleaner to cleanse the pranamaya kosha…
Once your pranayama kosha is active, you can jump straight to the vijnanamaya kosha where clarity, intuition, deeper knowing and more will become a regular part of your life experiences…
Your sushumna is your shortest and easiest path towards your highest potential…
